| 1. Remove old grass and clear the area ready for turfing. | 2. The soil should be dug or rotavated to at least 100mm deep. It is best to do this when the ground is dry. | 3. Rake over to obtain a fine tilth. This will ensure good contact with the turf when laid. |

| 4. Heel in or roll the area 2 or 3 times to ensure a level and firm base. | 5. Roll out the turf starting on a straight edge if possible, butting the ends together. Continue using a brick laying pattern to ensure they all knit together. Using a flat board gently firm them in. | 6. Water turf well and continue for first 2-3 weeks in normal conditions. Turf can be laid all year round, however frosty conditions should be avoided where possible. Laying turf in hot dry conditions will require additional watering and care. |
