General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
As you may be aware new rules for the handling of data are being introduced with effect from 25th May 2018 and this notice sets out how these apply to our customers.
For our customers we do not normally record any identifiable data in our business computer systems. We do record the value of the transaction and the split of this over our various sales categories. This information is used to measure the level of sales and also used for the purposes of our accounting and to calculate our VAT and Corporation Tax liabilities.
Where we need to order specific goods that are not in stock or insufficient are in stock and in the case of deliveries where your requirements are being dealt with, we may record your requirements, pricing, names, addresses if delivery is required and contact details. After completion of the order this information is retained for a short time in case of queries and then securely destroyed.
When making payments by debit or credit card we will enter your card details directly into our card machine and not record them anywhere else. Our procedures relating to the handling of card information comply with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) and all of our staff authorised to use the card machine have been instructed how to apply this standard including dealing with telephone payment arrangements and security.
Under the GDPR rules customers have the right to request us to read, erase or rectify any personal information that we hold. If you wish to do this or discuss this matter please call in to our shop at Billing Garden Village or call 01604 406593.
We thank you for your custom and continue to strive to provide you with a first-class service to meet your needs.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Every time the contact form on our website is used, the submission data is recorded by the form builder plugin and stored in the website’s database. This data includes your name, email address and possibly your telephone number, if you chose to provide it. This data is stored purely for our own use, should we need to contact you again in the future. It will not be shared, sold or made available to anyone else under any circumstances.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping baskets, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Our website uses Google Analytics which also stores cookies on your computer. These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way the website works, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for.
Who we share your data with
We value your privacy and will not share, sell or make available any data you provide.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have submitted data using our contact form or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
